RECENT CASES IN PERSONAL INJURY
AVIATION
We recently obtained a large settlement in the crash of an airplane for two women passengers who
were seriously injured. Liability was hotly contested by the defendants, however, we prevailed by
providing negligence in the packaging of one of the airplane's carburetors. We proved that a piece
of Styrofoam was permitted to get inside the carburetor causing the engine to quit and the plane to
crash.

of the window of the long-term care facility where she resided. Although she was becoming
increasingly paranoid, the nursing home took no precautions, to protect her. The nursing home
defense was lack of knowledge and that she was trying to commit suicide. We proved that they
violated various standards which govern nursing homes.
